Short answer: Adult content is allowed. Porn is not. All adult content on commission services and portfolio showcases must be properly tagged.
Why restrict NSFW at all?
Our ability to support NSFW content is limited by the restrictions placed on us by our payment processors - currently Stripe and PayPal.
Stripe shared the following statement with us:
Adult artwork, drawings, statues, paintings are fine as long as it does not include nude images or nude photography of humans; pornography or human sexual services, or display or sale of imagery depicting adult nudity or sexual acts - is prohibited.
Our interpretation
Heavily inspired by Gumroad since they also use both Stripe and PayPal:
Adult content is allowed.
Porn is not.
Directly borrowing Gumroad's definition:
Porn = photos or video of actual human beings engaged in sexual activities. Anything else is "adult content"
Animations, illustrations, audiobooks, and audio products do not always count as pornography.
Responsible NSFW
Either way, Adult content must always be tagged as such.
Sensitivity Tagging / Filters
VGen offers a range of sensitive content tags. When uploading content, select the filter that best describes it:
- Revealing clothes (non-sexual)
- Artistic nudity (18+)
- Sexually suggestive (18+)
- Sexual nudity (18+)
- Blood / Gore
- Violence
- Flashing / Epilepsy warning
- Other (with optional custom label)
Items tagged (18+) will always remain hidden from users under 18.
