If you notice that an artist’s page looks empty or see that their account is suspended, it can feel worrying. In most cases, your existing commission can still be completed or resolved through VGen. This article explains what each state means and what you can do as a client.
If the artist’s page looks “blank” or "wiped"
Sometimes an artist's account is restricted so they can no longer take new commissions. This can occur for multiple different reasons, but in 9/10 cases, it is because they currently have 3+ overdue commissions. When this happens, the artist’s public page may appear empty, meaning:
- No commission services or shop products are visible
- Portfolio items are hidden
- Reviews are not shown publicly
This restriction affects only their ability to take on new work. Your existing commission can still move forward. The artist can:
- Continue messaging you through VGen
- Deliver files for your commission
- Issue a refund through the normal process, if that is what you agree on
If the artist’s account is suspended
A suspension means the artist has broken our Terms of Service or one of our policies. Suspensions can be temporary or permanent, depending on the situation.
Even while suspended, the artist is still able to:
- Message clients that they have ongoing commissions with
- Deliver any remaining work that is yet to be completed
- Refund existing commissions when needed
What you should do as a client
- Keep using your existing VGen chat with the artist to ask for updates, delivery, or a refund if needed.
- Do not send new payments off-platform while their account is restricted or suspended. This is a violation of our TOS, and could result in further account action.
- If the artist stops responding for a reasonable period after you reach out, contact VGen support with your COMM#ID and any relevant screenshots so our team can review. Be sure these screenshots include your attempts to contact the artist.
Our goal is to protect both clients and artists. If you are ever unsure what a status means or how to proceed, reach out to support, and we will be happy to take a look.
