Short answer: You can manage this yourself under Settings > Account > Security. To swap to a different Twitter/X or Twitch account, disconnect the current one first, then connect the new one.
Why link a social account?
Connected socials double as a way into your account. You can log in to VGen with your password or with any of your connected social accounts, so linking one gives you a backup route in if you ever forget your password.
How to connect or disconnect an account
- Go to Settings > Account > Security.
- Find the Twitter/X or Twitch row. Each one shows whether it's currently connected.
- Click Connect to link an account, or Disconnect to unlink the one that's already there.
How do I switch to a different account?
There's no direct swap, so it's a two-step process. Disconnect the account that's currently linked, then click Connect and authorize the account you'd like to use instead.
Note: Because connected socials are a login method, it's worth making sure you'll still have a way in before disconnecting one. If a social account is your only way in, we'd recommend ensuring you're up to date with your current password first, from the same Security section.
Either way, you're never stuck. If Twitter/X or Twitch is having issues, or you've lost access to a linked account, you can always get back in by email:
- Click Log in.
- Choose Log in via email.
- Click Forgotten Password.
- Enter the email on your Twitter account, or the email where you receive your VGen notifications.
- Follow the instructions in the email we send you.
