Over time, we've entrusted artists with managing their own workflows and finances, striving to maintain familiarity with established processes. However, this approach has occasionally resulted in clients facing challenges such as delayed deliveries and communication breakdowns. Despite our interventions, a few bad actors have managed to slip through, affecting client trust. Recognizing these issues, we've been diligently crafting safeguards to enhance buyer protection, aiming to strike a balance between safeguarding buyers and preserving artists' autonomy.
New Features:
🎯MANDATORY GUARANTEED DELIVERY
All proposals must include a guaranteed delivery date, which must fall within a two-year timeframe while still allowing for dynamic guaranteed delivery.
🛑 ACCOUNT RESTRICTIONS ON ACCOUNTS WITH OVERDUE COMMS
Any artist with 3 or more overdue commissions will have all services forced closed and will be removed from discovery until all outstanding commissions on their account are resolved.
Refund Protection:
These are the more serious features of Buyer Protection that will ensure that client funds are always safe.
- VGen Payments (powered by Stripe) has transitioned to a withheld funds system, in which clients' funds aren't released to the artist until the successful completion of the commission (or milestone).
- PayPal will remain the same (funds are immediately available to the artist), but we will be more proactively encouraging clients to dispute after the guaranteed delivery date has passed.
